It's important to have just a handful of champions in your arsenal when playing in SoloQ, 

Here is my list for split one of S13.

1. Malphite

2. Tryndamere

3. Renekton

4. Dr. Mundo

5. Sett

Malphite - This one is very simple, if they have a heavy AD team comp just rush as much armor as possible and you’re unkillable at like twenty minutes. But there are better tanks if the enemy team is heavy AP, he would still be fine but you are just not getting the most out of him.

Build - Iceborn Gauntlet, Sunfire Cape, Merc Treads or Plated Steelcaps depending on enemy comp. Then just pick situational items, I like Gargoyle Stoneplate and Force of Nature.

Tryndamere - He is THE low elo carry machine, great lane sustain, wins most early game trades. He obliterates low elo players and he is so damn fun  to play. You need to be careful letting your games go to thirty plus minutes, you WILL get kited and peeled. If you have a crazy lead with Tryn END. THE. GAME. FAST.

Build - I usually go Kraken Slayer, but I've heard Galeforce is fine as well depending on what you want. Navori Quick Blades pretty much every game. Berserker's Greaves and depending on the enemy team choose from; Infinity Edge, Blade of the Ruined King, Bloodthirster, Witt’s End, Maw of Malmortius. 

Renekton - Renekton is my overall main and favorite champion in the game, so thats why he's on this list, unless you already play Renekton in ranked…don't at least not this current patch 13.4. There are like four other champions that are just better versions of Renekton - Camille, Sett, K’Sante, Pantheon.

Build- BORK first ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS. At least as your first completed item, if you buy something like a Hexdrinker or an Executioner's Calling before finishing BORK that's perfectly ok. Then buy boots depending on the team, I usually lean towards Merc Treads. Then pick whatever Mythic item you want on him because they all suck. No but seriously only buy Goredrinker or Prowlers Claw or Jak’sho. I honestly don't like the Prowlers claw build but to each their own. Then finish out the build with maybe a Black Cleaver or Maw of Malmortius, and full tank from there. Happy Croc’ing.

Dr. Mundo - Probably a more versatile tank than Malphite, but I dont know if I can even say that. They both are played fairly similarly in lane and become unkillable at like twenty-five minutes, except Mundo is a health tank and not an armor focused tank like the big rock man. But good luck if the enemy laner rushes Executioner’s Calling

Build - Heartsteel(always first), Sunfire Cape, Force of Nature, Warmog's Armor, Spirit Visage, and probability Merc Treads.

Sett - I actually don't play Sett, but I would like to learn this season. I am very tired of playing AGAINST Sett so if you can't beat them, join them.

Build - I just told you I don't play Sett.
